This week, I am starting a goal that I’ve needed to start for a long time now. Since April 2007, I’ve had a membership to Bally’s here in Salt Lake. Since that time, I’ve gone to the gym maybe 20 times. Well, this week and until my membership expires in March 2010, that’s all changing.
I will be documenting my progress over on Banal Leakage starting next week.
Next up is a long time project that I’ve wanted to do. No, not my videos that I make. But it is video related. I’ve got years of footage from when my daughter was just a baby. It’s all on Hi8 format and it’s all over at my daughter’s place. I plan to import all of it to my Mac and then go through it all digitally over time and start making videos out of it.
Of course, all of this requires me to manage my time so that it won’t be another two years before I post something very similar again. Wish me luck.
A musical legend and a band that I’ve been waiting to see for years are coming to the same venue – The Paladium – here in Salt Lake City.
AND…. what will be announced on Monday, August 4th on local radio station X96, as part of their annual BIG ASS Show… Local H will be one of the headlining bands. This year’s show is being held at USANA Amphitheater on Saturday September 27, 2008 [instead of the it’s previous location, Utah State Fairpark]
Concerts coming to Utah this summer are a-plenty. Here’s the list so far:
- The Cure – May 23rd – The E Center
- Josh Ritter – July 17th – – Galivan Center
- The Police, with Elvis Costello and the Imposters – July 19th – USANA Amphitheater
- Motley Crue, with Buckcherry, Papa Roach and Sixx:AM – July 29th – USANA Amphitheater
- Nine Inch Nails – September 3rd – The E Center
And of course, the previously mentioned Stone Temple Pilots show on June 11th. That’s all for now of the bands I am interested in. Will add another post with others as they get announced.
Last week, Velvet Revolver officially announced the firing/departure of Scott Weiland as their lead singer, siting all sorts of reasons. And Slash had previously announced a Stone Temple Pilots reunion.
So as expected, Stone Temple Pilots announced, with a news conference/mini-concert in the Hollywood Hills, that they have reunited and have planned a 65-date tour this year.
I for one, couldn’t be happier. As a big STP fan since they first broke out on the scene in 1992 and having seen them in concert twice, I’m pretty excited. June 11th at the E Center is their date for Utah.
Here are the rest of the tour dates, posted on their official site.
… to tide visitors over until I can sort it all out and get this site completed and ready for update posts, and my new blogging site Banal Leakage started with the first post.
The details of coverage for both sites will be separate but mixed, in some ways. Banal Leakage is my thoughts on daily life, written with a mindset of entertaining the reader. This site, ChillyWilly.org, will be coverage of what I have done, as far as work and personal accomplishments I’ve done in life… basically, a history of sorts.
So hang on just a few more days and it will all be worth it. And that is no April Fool’s joke.
Will post again soon. Just importing older posts from other blogs and the previous site design. All of the older posts are now up, so see what I had to write back a few years ago. Then watch this space for updates on my blogs and other places to find my writings and work.
